District Chairman Message for June, 2008

I have been District Chairman for 5 months now. I am finally starting to understand what the District does well and where we need work. We still have a need for volunteers in the District Committee to help make the District's offerings outstanding.

You all volunteer many hours of your time to the Scouting program, helping the youth in our area learn, grow, and experience the outdoors in ways they could not otherwise achieve. However, some of you may be looking for more ways to contribute, may have children graduating but want to continue to serve, or you may have friends or acquaintances who are looking for ways to serve the community.

If this describes you, there are many ways to help. We are currently looking for volunteers to help plan activities, help with membership drives, and help with fund raising drives. Two of the biggest needs in the District Committee right now are for a Membership Chair and a Finance Chair, to help oversee the membership and fund raising activities in the District.
