Rancho Del Mar
District Meeting Minutes
October 4, 2007

Nancy Wooldridge announced 239 new scouts for September. That includes Scouts, Cubs and Ventures. Rancho Del Mar was the top district for September, thanks to everyone for their efforts!!

Day Camp needs a Camp Director, Program Director, Registrar and Quartermaster. Day Camp will continue to be at Mason Park the last week of June, 2008. Call Nancy or Jillian if you would like more information.

Dave Chapman is assisting Council from our district on Special Needs Scouting.

Peter Gruenbeck still working on Commissioner Lists-has 3 going to Commissioner College. Still working at about 50% staffing level. Being a Commissioner is a great way to help out and you can work it into your schedule. There are a lot of units that are looking for the assistance this group of volunteers offer.

Next week is Round Table. Re-charter packets will be available. Remember, we are all going to be a calendar year charter. There is an online re-charting option, all re-charters are due in November. Let’s finish them up by mid-November so that we can more fully enjoy the holiday season!Michael Haggin has revised the training schedule to remove the September training, which no one attended.

Michael is looking for a park to have Cub Scout Outdoor Training at. Looking at various sites such as Talbert Regional, etc.

No Camping Report by Richard Kendall.

Rancho Los Flores is closing at end of the month. There are some weekends planned, to include OA, to help get stuff off the site.

Scouting for Food will have bags available at Roundtable next week. All units need to send a rep to collect their unit’s boxes of bags. There are some people in Newport Beach who have commented that they do not receive the bags, let’s reach out to all areas!

Advancement forms for Silver Beaver are due no later than 4pm next week Thursday. E-mail to Anne at mceligot@pacbell.net.

Life to Eagle training to be held on October 27 in Laguna Niguel from 9-11am. Life to Eagle packets are only available on-line. The Merit Badge Counselor list is updated.

Training at Roundtable will be Baloo and YPT and re-charter.

RDM is doing great in our Popcorn sales. Remember, this is a big fundraiser for us, it supports both the entire council, the districts and the units. Many Scouts use this fundraiser to help pay for summer camps. A lot of people like helping us, we make their communities better by having Scouting, and the popcorn really is the best!
